Arteta indicates the full gyker's beginnings for the pre-season of northern London Derby
Mikel Arteta revealed that the new Arsenal Viktor Gyokerres striker will be assessed in training before a decision is made to find out if he appears in their next confrontation with Tottenham.
The Swedish international finalized his move of 63.5 million pounds Sterling of the Sports CP this weekend and was present while the Gunners were ahead of Newcastle 3-2 in Singapore.
Although Arta is impatient to integrate the 27 -year -old as soon as possible, he admits that Gyoker has been involved in any training since the conclusion of the winning campaign of a Sporting title.
“Well, I think he hasn't had a single training session with the team since the last match with Sporting when they became champions,” said Arteta.
“So we're going to assess it tomorrow, he has done all the medical, everything is fine, but to update it with the right physical form levels, I think it's very important.
“So we are not going to stop it, we want it with us as quickly as possible, but we will have to assess, and the medical team will do.”
Gyokerres had faced disciplinary measures in Portugal after skipping Sporting pre-season training to help switch north of London. The prolific striker scored 54 goals in 52 games last season.
Gyokerres signed a five -year agreement and is Arsenal's sixth major addition this summer, after the arrivals of Kepa Arrizabalaga, Martin Zubimendi, Christian Norgaard, Noni Madueke and Cristhian Mosquera.
While Kepa, Zubimendi and Norgaard have already made their debut during the club's pre-season tour, Madueke will meet the team later this summer.
Gyokerres and Mosquera traveled with the team in Asia but did not appear in the Newcastle match.
