Nottingham Forest Add Arnaud Kalimuendo to the ranks of 26 million pounds sterling
The Nottingham forest ended the signature of Rennes striker Arnaud Kalimuendo on a five -year contract for a first £ 26 million pounds sterling.
The 23 -year -old French man arrives after a prolific season at Ligue 1, where he scored 18 goals in 34 appearances while Rennes finished 12th.
Former Paris Saint-Germain striker, Kalimuendo has managed 40 times in 112 games for the French club since his participation in 2022 and was part of the French Olympic team who won the money in Paris last year.
Kalimuendo becomes the last high -level Forest arrival during a summer of heavy expenses. The club had already invested more than 114 million pounds sterling in six players, including the winger Omari Hutchinson of Ipswich Town for 37.5 million pounds Sterling and the James Mcatee midfielder from Manchester City in an agreement of 30 million pounds sterling.
Nuno Espirito Santo had questioned Forest's transfer strategy last week, warning that his team was not fully equipped for the requirements of European football, but the club has since moved to strengthen.
Forest will participate in the Europa League this season after Crystal Palace has been demoted to the conference league.
Kalimuendo will provide competition to Chris Wood alongside the Brazilian striker Igor Jesus, who arrived from Botafogo in July for 10 million pounds Sterling.
Addressing the club website, Kalimuendo said: “When I heard of Forest's interest, I was honored. I arrive here with a good experience but I want more and I want to reach a new level. I can't wait to play in the Premier League and on the city of the city – fans create a beautiful atmosphere.”
Forest opened its Premier League campaign with a 3-1 victory against Brentford at City Ground on Sunday.
Meanwhile, the club sold Anthony Elaga in Newcastle for a first 55 million pounds sterling earlier this summer, but obtained a boost when Morgan Gibbs-White signed a new contract despite Tottenham's interests.
