Shohei Ohtani was struck by the online line in 8-3 against the Rockies
The Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers had a brutal outing against the Colorado Rockies yesterday after abandoning five points deserved in four sleeves and putting a line of driving in the thigh. Fortunately for Los Angeles, manager Dave Roberts is “confident” that Ohtani can play tomorrow.
“We will see how he gets out. The guys are touched all the time by a launcher, and, obviously, not by a shot ball ”, Roberts said in an post-match interview. “But I hope [and] confident.”
Before taking it, Ohtani was already having a bad day. At the bottom of the second round, he abandoned two deserved points to put the rocks in front of 2-0. He also granted an increasingly deserved race in the fourth round before taking the line of driving on his leg.
“I just don't think, today, Shohei had his best things,” said Dave Roberts. “The quick ball was not as good as it is generally. The rupture ball was not as clear, and the cutter, the same thing. I think it's not his night today.”
With an outing at the bottom of the fourth, the Orlando Arcia Rockies stop hit a 93 MPH line that hit Ohtani on his right leg, making him grimac in pain while he was trying without success to throw the runner to the first goal. Despite notable lameness, Ohtani finished the round and allowed two other points to give Colorado a 5-0 lead.
“I took it out because, a little, the scoring.” It was in the thigh, fortunately, not off the knee, but it made it square. “
“I was touched in the same place [I was] Struck by land, ” Ohtani said through a translator After the match. “Right now, it feels good. I'm going to do everything in my ability to make sure it does not affect me in the future.”
Ohtani was able to reaffirm the confidence of Dave Roberts by saying that he planned to play tomorrow against the Padres of San Diego.
“This is my intention,” he said when he was asked if he would be in alignment on Friday. “”[I’m] I just make sure to get my treatment. The objective is to make sure that I am back to normal again. »»
Being the competitor he is, Shohei Ohtani wanted to speak more of his bad pitching performance than his health.
“It's very regrettable,” he said. “Put the team in a bad place. It was just a very unfortunate outing that I would have liked to be able to do better.”
Anyway, it seems that Shohei Ohtani is lucky not to have suffered a more serious injury.
“I'm glad it didn't hit the knee,” he said. “I think we have avoided the worst case.”
The Dodgers close their journey on the road to four games against the Rockies this afternoon. The first launch in it is scheduled at 3:10 p.m. Hae.
