WSO: What did your eyemow the most about this project, Kangaroo Islandand the character of lou?

Rebecca: I got the script when we were on a road trip by size Sur, and most I want to see the window because it is beautiful and I get a little bit of bow on the windy bend. I thought, “I just will read a quick, and then I will put it away and read it later.” I couldn't stop reading.

Sally Gifford wrote this script, and she just had so much humanity and so much heart. It speaks of healing without you beat it with it. It's a very nice human story. [Lou] is a train lane, she is cheeky, she is sweet and she is very ground. So it was a no-brainer for me. I just had to play this part.

What was like to film on Kangaroo Island?

Every day there was a meeting with nature you do not have plans. The first tree from the airport had three koalas in. You could not throw rock without hitting a kangaroo. We looked fairy tale penguins. There was a Wombat who was on my front step tomorrow. There was even this single road we rode by that Council, was kind of like this Grove who was just full of butterflies.

This place – it's a little australian heaven. It's so beautiful, and yet, at the same time, it is so wild and rough. We were just so angry in the beauty nature and it was so heal. There was also a silence that held us. I felt very much to be at home.

How did everyone get behind the scenes?

Oh my goh, we're so good on. I've worked with Erik [Thomson] mentioned on a show C * a * u * g * h * t for stan, and we go back to channel 7 days when he was on [Packed to the] Raftters and I was beside him Home and awayAnd then he suddenly play my father in this movie.

I knew that he was a funny man, but I didn't know he has got me in stabbed. And this is a really very intense subject, just? And so I think it really matters to find the Levity, not only in character, but also set.

And Adelaide [Clemens] And I was just cut from the same towel. As soon as I met them I was like, “Oh we get each other.” She is so passionate about what she does, she loves the work, she is really ground, but at the same time, she can have a laugh.

We have that girl bond together that I think I'll get on when the sisters in the movie, for sure. We were so isolated shooting of this film together – we were basically each other's family for you two months. So we care for each other, that's really special.

Is there any other genre you want to explore you don't have yet?

Gosh, I've been Desperately to do a ROM-COM. If I could emulate anyone's career it would be likely to be [Sandra] Bull. She can tanculate toleritlain between the dramas and the heavy content, and then, suddenly she does a laughter-snort in a rom-com.

I'm really close to a Nancy Meyers Film once – of course the queen of Rom-com's – but they never ended to make the movie, so I never knew if I would have it. I've been this close, so see this space definitely!

Kangaroo Island Hits cinemas On August 21, 2025.
