Mel C on the Spice Girls, The Voice Australia & more
Wander behind the scenes in the tapings of The Voice AustraliaBlind Auditions and you will testify many pre show jitters, mixed with a healthy dose of passion from the budding participants to prove herself – and their talent – to the panel of Coaches.
And this year there will be one coach with her hand seated on their major red buzzer who remembers those feelings all too well.
In fact, in March 1994, Melanie “Mel C” Chisholm Was the one audition for their own shot on Fame, not knowing that the journey ahead that would see her, her one fifth of the girl group of all time.
A little more than three decades and 100 million records, 'sporty spice' cannot help, but reflect back on the “magic of that time 'when they have come to audition The Voice Australia.
“I know myself and the other spice girls – when we talked about the start and meet our first song and let go of us, it held the special place in our hearts,” Mel Cselles WSO If we sit to talk ahead of the new season premiere.
“[The feeling that] everything is possible. You don't know what the future holds. “
Certainly, the star could never have predicted success that the spice girls would have in their short six years and in the decades since.
“The beginning is so exciting, and then the rite was incredibly,” she remembers. “And then if you reflect back, like when we have the opportunity to tour [together again] In 2019 we could appreciate it completely and be present in a way [you can’t] If you are caught in the eye of the storm – it's a little like you are in Survival mode. “
Reflect back has me Mel C to see how much they should offer the aspirant artists because they are on the Voice Australia Coach panel for the first time this year.
“What I enjoy more than everything is the mentoring side of things,” she recognizes.
“The parts of the show where you really need to talk yourself, I'm not as comfortable with it. But I think, and it is like, 'Wow, I have in the Studio, on stage, working with other artists.' I realize that I have a lot of advice. And I have learned a lot about the years of all different things I have done. “
Talk to youre don't need to need abage, and Mel C acknowledges part of the girl group is eagerly played in their favor in competing against other coaches Ronan Keating, Kate Miller-Heidke and Richard Marx for participants to participate in their respective teams.
“We really don't tread on each other's and we have a singer, we really want. And then, of course, the large guns come to play,” she says with a laugh. “And yes, sometimes my other coach finds it hard to top my spice girl.”
That dash of rivalry, beside, Mel C says it “really liked” with them all works. T
He sang has looked after return coach Kate for guidance and admits that she is “a little bit in fear” from Richard. What Ronan is concerned?
“I really have been imprint with Ronan, actually, because because I sometimes know it and I sometimes refer as my annoying little brother, but he is brilliant on the show,” she is part. “It's really interesting to see how everyone plays the game. We are all very different, what is right.”
In addition to them with-coaches, Spice Girls Bandmate Melanie Brown – who is a regular face on Aussie-Reality TV through their previous roles The X Factor Australia And, more recent, The mask singer Australia – Was also “full of advice” when they mel clip teached cop to oz for The Voice Australia.
“The problem is with me and melanie, we are so different,” she recognizes. “She is such a disruptor. I love her on TV, she is great TV. But I have to do things my own way.”
With her pop star studio it would be safe to assume that mel Could have could have had their reality competition in the world's shows over the world.
But she recognizes that out of her all, Dove is their favorite.
“I just think it is a really cherished show for talent,” The singer-turning dj explains. “I was just as pleased to ask, especially here in Australia, as it is a land to try to work here. I love to work here. I would be here for the work.”
The fact that they also “spend” a nice clothes “with their Aussie Beau, actor and model Chris Dingwall, seems to be added only to the profession.
“It definitely helps, don't have to do it?” She says with a wink, when asked whether whether to connect to Australia in factor in login.
“Work here, here as a pealing of it or solo artist, in a theater production or, more reality or time was because it was rare to come to Australia,” Mel C adds.
“And sometimes when you come in, if you show, if you do, then you do promo, it is a few days and out. So I enjoy living here.”
