Everton unveiled his new third kit for the 2025/26 season – and he already divides an opinion for a very unusual reason.

Designed by Castore, the kit reinvents the undulations of the Mersey river in a daring and colorful design inspired by the local graphic designer Neil Keating.

The black shirt, with a crew necklace, incorporates a blue and yellow abstract pattern through the body, imitating the flow of the river after the new Everton stadium. The look is completed with black shorts and matching socks, with blue and yellow scratches on folding.

But the real point of discussion is what is missing.

The third kit does not offer a traditional club crest. Instead, the shirt carries a simple white pentagon on the chest, symbolizing the tower of Prince Rupert – the historical locking of the village which has long been part of the Everton badge.

While some supporters praised design as daring and avant-garde, others criticized the absence of the ridge, saying that it withdraws part of the identity of the club.

Whatever the side of the debate on which you fall, one thing is certain: when Everton takes the ground in this kit, they will be difficult to miss.

Whether it becomes a classic cult or a forgettable experience will probably depend on the results that come while carrying it. After all, nothing makes a shirt better than winning.
