Atlanta knows how to turn a jubileum in a movement, and that is just what hot-spot is Breakfast at barney's did for his 5-year-old stood. Instead of a traditional dinner or champagne toast, the icon of the city, the Southern Soul Festival on Saturday, music, music, and black-owned matters in the heart of the city center.

From the moment that the doors opened at 8 o'clock, the block at 349 Decatur cent with tents, music, and the smell of good food. Guest shopped local, sipping Mimosas, and two–stepped to the sound of live DJs. It felt like Atlanta at his best-festive, community-driven, and deep south.
“I feel great. I feel blessed, and I feel honor to extend my platform to other entrepreneurs in the city of Atlanta,” said with the owner Barney Lee Berry Jr.chosen to mark his milestone with a cultural celebration instead of a private party.
For Berry was the southern Soul Festival about much more than slap glass. He has been in the business since he was 18, and he says the festival was his way to be the mentor that he once he needed.

“Have I had guidance and one had to allow me to share their platform, maybe I would not have made as many mistakes in submitting up,” he reflects. “That I wanted to extend my hand to up-and-upcomers … to get with me for my five years, but the platform tells and tell people about what you have continued.”
Open in August 2020 right in the middle of the Pandemy-was a leap of Faith Berry says he only took because of vision and prayer. “All I heard was, restaurants are the hardest business to make success. So this is a blessing because I don't know, and thus I would never fear this opportunity,” said Berry.
So faith does not appear not only in dinner, but in the design.
“The flower is true with my grandfather, Marietta Berry. She happened to me, but also, the inside of me. It means a lot. It means a lot to me. It means a lot.
The mind of southern soul
Berry says that the name of the festival comes from his country roots.
“I come from a small town hall outside Savannah, Georgia, mentioned Glennville-the house of the Vidalia sweet onion,” he said proud. “I've been in Atlanta since I was 17 but my roots are in the land … land boys rule the world. Do your research.”

That pride in heritage became in the Festivaldor, explained by Nesie van Brand-Therapy, the marketing partner for southernmost soul party through breakfast at Barney's.
“We wanted to give back to the community and not to do about just breakfast. The mayor was not to do with suppliers, mark on them. It was to share and share each brand.”

With Charisma on full display, King LED line dances that are blend instruction and performance. As a southern girl with country roars myself, there is nothing like participating in a line-dance in the middle of downtown in the middle of the rhythm with strangers who feel like nephey of the song. King's presence connects the “soul” in the southern soul, making the day more than more than a market place – it was a familyer-reunion.
Provided vendors in the spotlight
The Festival also marked a terrible list of entrepreneurs, hand retrieved by berry and his team for their excellence and common spirit.

A celebration that felt like home
Between Live Music Sets, Dance Sessions, and Vendor Browsing, Guests Clinked Smoked Mimosas-Strawberry, Peach, and emerged. The flavors match the mood: Sweet, refreshing, and unapological south.
For Barney Lee Berry Jr., the joy of the day, just captured what he wanted.
“Let's stop the hateful. Let's stop the competing … We are no enemy of each other. We need to come together because we are stronger than one, and we can go a lot.”
Five years in, breakfast at Barney's has proven it proved more than a brunch pot – it is a landmark. The Southern Soul Fest is a love letter to Atlanta: Soulful food, Southern Flair, and black undernigable on his most beautiful.
