Why One VC Thinks Quantum Is a Bigger Unlock Than AGI

What happens when you are right?

I am a venture investor, and we believe in convective-nobody risks on things that probably don't work but when they work 500x in value.

It is a real earth-moving innovation if there is a chance that quantum computers find the way to success. You unlock these Tink engines, these calculations that can perform the future of material science, the future of pharmaceutical innovation, the future of the future of the financial marks we've never seen before.

You can see a future where you can create pharmaceutic advanctions that could egg every 20 to 30 years. You could see changes in material science we can figure out new products. It could help us come to Mars! That's what quantum computies.

The way you talk about Kwantum computer sounds a lot like how many ai enthusiasters talk about artificial general intelligence about artificial general intelligence.

In many ways, Kwantum is today where Ai was back in 2015, that is a lot of really great projects and scientific projects and starting practical applications instead of just pure research.

You have mentioned it's hard to fake that I is a quantum expert. I would pose it's not so hard to fake an AI expert. How do you decide who are back?

There are so many companies that are built in AI I will extract them as 5, 10 years will not be a true real out of the brand or speed. Brand and speed are rarely strong enough to build a generation company.

I will give you an example. Brightai makes stickers that are this big [she makes a circle with her fist]. The company set a sticker on each phone pole, on any HVAC system, on any waterline system, and then observes it for long periods, 5, 10, 15, 20 years [and flags potential issues]. That's a pretty good should. You don't rip out all those stickers.

For the most part, the value in Ai-confronts to the ines. Penny, my COFOUnder, is located at the Board of Microsoft. If you think about it, Microsoft and Google Google 3 billion users. Microsoft has a billion users. They can launch a product that is ok, not excellent, and they still have a prices force, a distribution power. And so we think very about the world where like the elephants dance. Don't be an ant.

How do you use ai?

For everything. There are nothing you don't use ai for, nothing. From every question I mean, today I probably used it 25 times.

It's replaced Google for you?

Everything. Everything. Deep Research, Sourcing. Today I sought what jobs declines the fastest in the world. True, I would say it is not a dozen times a day. It is dozens of times a day.
