In an outdoor game sitting on the Name her father podcastKimmy Kakes got real about the highs, lows and hard lessons learned while raising four kids with the rap mogul. According to The Hollywood ReporterKim opened up about the early days of her relationship with Ye, describing him as “larger than life”, before admitting that his first public mental health struggle was a turning point for their marriage.

The couple first tied the knot in 2014, had four children, and finalized their divorce in 2022, but co-parenting after such a public split wasn't easy, according to the SKIMS founder.

“I mean, I'm raising the kids full time. They live with me,” shared Kim, explaining that while she encourages a healthy relationship between Ye and her children, things have not been smooth. “It's probably been a few months since we heard from him.”

In the Name her father Interview, Kim added that the children have become accustomed to their father's fast-paced, globe-trotting lifestyle, noting:

“They always knew that he used to have a big life traveling and always on tour and all that … and that he lives in different countries all the time.”

Still, Kardashian said she has worked hard to protect her children's peace.

“Every time he asked, I will always show them their father,” she insisted. “I just grew up watching my family co-parent so great… I welcome healthy relationships, but it's not easy.”

When asked how she handles public stories, often started by Yewho accuse her of keeping the children away, Kim did not hold back: “It's not a kidnapping, it's a divorce,” she said.

Despite the roller coaster ride, Kim made it clear that she has no regrets about her decade-long relationship with Ye.

Co-parenting is just another chapter in the Kardashian-West saga; Kim also discussed divorcing the rapper after their marriage turned “toxic.”

When asked about a breaking point in her marriage, Kim cited Kanye's erratic behavior and financial decisions, as well as his copycat comments about her mother and sisters.

“Just don't feel safe, you know, not even physically, just like maybe emotionally or even, you know, financially,” she said Name her father. “I would like to come home, and we had like five Lamborghinis and I would come home and they would all be gone like he was in an episode. And I would be like, “Oh, wait. Where are all our cars? Like, my new car?' And it would be like, oh, he gave them away to all his friends.

She also noted that Ye's mental health struggles were affecting her ability to parent their children; North, 12, Saint, 9, Chicago, 7, and Psalm, 6.

“Once my mental health starts to affect me and I can't age like I should and I can't be present and focused, there has to be one of us who can,” she said. “And I had to save myself to be a better mom for everybody. And I think, like, when everybody's older, they can understand and everybody can see that.”
