Martha Kalifatidis has announced her second pregnancy
It seems just yesterday that Michael Brunelli and Martha Kalifatidis fell in love on Married At First Sight Australia.
The couple quickly became one of the biggest success stories of the series, and joined the likes of Cam Merchant and Jules Robinson as proof that love can last long after the cameras stop rolling.
Since they met on Season Six, Michael and Martha have kept fans updated with many sweet behind-the-scenes moments and glimpses into their lives together.
After getting engaged in December 2021, they welcomed their first child in 2023, and now, the couple announced on October 23, 2025 that Martha is pregnant with baby number two!
“Knocked up n' knocked out. Will be back bigger (🤰🏻) and better soon…fingers crossed!” Martha shared on her Instagram with the cutest video of her son Lucius.
Never ones to shy away from the truth, the couple documented their first difficult pregnancy, detailing Martha's diagnosis with hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) — a rare pregnancy condition that affects about two percent of pregnant women and causes extreme morning sickness.
“At five weeks I was diagnosed with HG, which is basically severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It's like 24/7,” said Martha when she returned to social media in September.
“I literally didn't get out of bed for two months; I was so sick. I couldn't eat or drink anything. There were days I didn't even get up to pee.”
Fortunately, at the four-month mark of her pregnancyMartha's symptoms improved, revealing that she was lucky enough to find a doctor who made her “feel human again.”
Martha and Michael kept fans updated throughout the nine months, sharing their experience of putting together a nursery, their surprise baby shower and them gender reveal.
The first-time parents announced the safe arrival of their little one via Instagram on February 28, 2023. “He's here, he's perfect,” they wrote alongside a photo of the cute bubbly.
She also announced her son's name, after months of fans theorizing about what the couple had chosen. Despite some strong fan rivalry, they didn't get along well after it was revealed they named their son Lucius.
A day after he was born, the couple shared another photo of Lucius with a message to those who had supported the couple in their journey.
“We just wanted to say a massive thank you to everyone who posted and commented kind words about Lucius! We're just chilling and enjoying our lil bubble, but we'll be back with the baby spam soon.”
Over the next year, Martha and Michael shared countless adorable photos of their growing son ahead of his first birthday on February 23, 2024.
Talking to WSO shortly before the big day, Michael shared that, unlike many celebrity families, the couple plan to have a low-key celebration for their son's milestone birthday.
“I don't like those parties like the Kardashians that are extravagant because he won't remember it at the end of the day, and it's too expensive. We'll go to a park, get some pizza, get some party hats, and just relax,” shared Michael.
