Quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he won't feel any 'animus' when his Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) team hosts the Green Bay Packers (4-1-1), with whom the 41-year-old has played four times NFL MVP and won Super Bowl XLV.

“I wish things had gone better in our last year there,” said Rodgers, who left the Packers in 2022, after joining them in 2005 as a first-round draft pick.

“But I have great relationships with a lot of people still in this organization. It's not a revenge game for me.

“I'm just excited to see some of these guys and be on Sunday Night Football again. Absence makes the heart grow fonder, maybe.

“I have a lot of great memories from my time there. A lot of great fan interactions over the years. I grew up there. I was there 18 years, from 21 to 39, so I'm grateful for my time there.”

Both teams lead their divisions, but Pittsburgh lost 33-31 to the Cincinnati Bengals last time out, while the Packers have won their last two games after a 27-23 win over the Arizona Cardinals last Sunday.

For all his accomplishments, Rodgers has never beaten the Packers, and his foes' form heading into this game — including three sacks of linebacker Micah Parsons against the Cardinals — suggests the curse will continue.
