Villa Aston and Brighton were the winners of two Sunday afternoon kick-offs Premier League.

Liverpool returned to form with a big victory against West Ham in East London, but there were two other matches in action in the division.

Find out how they both turned out here.

Villa's hot streak continues

Aston Villa edged past Wolves at Villa Park, winning all three points thanks to Boubacar Kamara's close-range strike in the second half.

Unai Emery's side were sharper for most of the afternoon and created the clearest openings, but they needed patience to break down a Wolves team to absorb pressure and counter when possible.

Villa's first brightest moment came when the visitors almost managed an own goal, Moller Wolfe volleying a clearance against the crossbar.

Morgan Rogers and Matty Cash both forced Sam Johnstone into work, while Wolves recalled their threat occasionally, with Emiliano Martínez called upon to prevent Strand Larsen and Yerson Mosquera from heading towards the woodwork.

Villa increased their intensity after the break and the breakthrough arrived when John McGinn played the ball to Kamara just outside the box. The midfielder opened his body and launched a controlled strike into the top corner, a finish that ultimately rewarded Villa's dominance.

Emery adjusted late to protect the lead as Wolves committed more men forward, looking for a response. Joao Gomes got a strong save from Martínez and a stoppage-time scramble had the home fans holding their breath, but Villa's backline stood firm for a tense further nine minutes.

Forest felled at home

Brighton picked up their first away win in two months with a composed 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

The visitors started sharply and created chances almost immediately, with Yankuba Minteh and Georginio Rutter both missing early openings.

Forest twice had to clear from the line as Brighton maintained territorial control, although Morgan Gibbs-White almost produced a superb opener at the other end, volleying narrowly wide in the hosts' best moment of the half.

The breakthrough came just before halftime. A long ball from Bart Verbruggen freed Minteh, whose combination with Rutter fell well for Maxim De Cuyper.

The Belgian struck first time from inside the box, scoring his second goal for the club and sending Brighton deservedly into the lead.

Forest improved after the restart and created pressure without creating many clear-cut chances, their momentum peaking midway through the half when Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ben Brereton Diaz forced reactive defending inside the box.

Brighton remained a threat at the break and could have extended their lead when Diego Gomez was denied by Matz Sels, with Stefanos Tzimas also slow to capitalize on the rebound.

The decisive moment came with two minutes remaining in regulation time. A short back header from Morato was intercepted by Jack Hinshelwood, who collided with Sels as the ball spilled into space.

Tzimas reacted quickest and rolled into the second, confirming Brighton's points and their move up to fifth.
