Before the Week 16 games on Sunday, a rumor about the death of veteran NFL reporter Jane Slater gained attention on social media.

A social media post shared a photo of Slater reporting the false rumor of Dallas Cowboys death of an insider on Sunday.

“A veteran reporter who covered the Dallas Cowboys, after following the team for more than a decade, has died at the age of 40 after a tragic domestic violence incident, leaving behind a 5-year-old child.

“Her years of dedicated work, along with the heartbreaking circumstances surrounding her death, have left her loyal fans stunned, devastated and praying for her and her family,” the false rumor claims.

When a fan tagged the veteran journalist about the X rumor, she responded:

“I don't think so? But does that mean there's a problem in the matrix? I'm going to wrap myself in bubble wrap until NYE.”

Slater not only dismissed the rumors about Los Angeles Chargers.
