“He speaks better than me”

Jon Anik recently praised Paddy Pimblett for his gift of gab and widely claimed the Liverpudlian was better than him on the mic.

Pimblett is one of the most popular personalities in the UFC today. He is widely known for his unfiltered personality, unique Scouse accent and entertaining fighting style. The Englishman has an impressive 23-3 record as a professional, with 17 of those victories coming by way of finish.

Ahead of Pimblett's interim lightweight title fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 324 later this month, Anik shared his honest thoughts on the Englishman and dismissed the narrative that he didn't deserve a title shot.

In an interview on the Spinnin Backfist MMA ShowAnik said:

“I love Paddy Pimblett. Now, Justin Gaethje and I take it a little further… but Paddy Pimblett, he's a master orator, isn't he? I get paid to speak; he talks better than me, right? Conor McGregor is the guy I think all speakers will be judged by. You can ask Paddy Pimblett any question, and you get an answer that is genuine, thoughtful and comical, magnetic and dynamic.”

He added:

“I'm all about this guy. I don't want to hear anything about his candidacy here. He's 7-0 in the UFC and 3/1 favorite to beat Justin… The kid did everything the right way.”

Paddy Pimblett rejects avoidance of Arman Tsarukyan fight

Paddy Pimblett recently denied suggestions he was avoiding or “dodging” a fight against Arman Tsarukyan and made it clear he would face the Georgian-born Armenian if necessary.

During a recent media scrum (via @MMAJunkie on X), 'The Baddy' also addressed the possibility of Topuria not returning to action by July and said:

“It's annoying that people say I'm avoiding Arman, I've never been offered to fight Arman. If I was ever offered this fight I would have punched his head already. It annoys me. I think it's an absolute helmet. So yes, I would fight Arman in a heartbeat. If Ilia can't fight until June or July he should be stripped because he's holding the division down. I will defend myself against Arman, Max, Charles, whatever.
