Manchester City leads 3-0 and further piles Etihad misery on Fulham
Manchester City were ready to put pressure on Arsenal in the Premier League title race as Antoine Semenyo continued his excellent form against Fulham with a dominant first half performance against the Cottagers.
City went into Wednesday's clash knowing they could reduce the gap with leaders Arsenal to three points before the Gunners travel to Brentford on Thursday.
The hosts had already won their last 19 meetings with Fulham in all competitions, the longest winning streak one team has had against another in the history of English football.
And this record seemed ready to be increased to 20 thanks to the genius of Semenyo.
Manchester City takes control
The Ghana international had previously scored five goals against Fulham during his Premier League career with Bournemouth, and he broke the deadlock with his sixth as he scored a 24th-minute opener.
Semenyo then gave Fulham a mountain to climb as he delivered the assist at the end of a flowing City move to make it 2-0, with Nico O'Reilly doubling the lead with a superb loft finish over Bernd Leno.
Erling Haaland then seemingly put the game beyond doubt with a surefire finish into the bottom right corner, scoring his eighth goal in as many Premier League games against the west Londoners.
