Lando Norris has just sting Charles Leclerc at the best time of the final training in Monza to set up a potentially tribune battle between at least McLaren and the favorites of the Ferrari house for the Italian Grand Prix Pole Position.

A last round lap propelled Leclerc, who had previously made a mistake during his first gentle type race, from 10th to the second to finish 0.021 behind Norris, who had previously given the pace on a 1: 19.331.

Norris will again take a rhythm edge on the team teammate, Oscar Piastri, to qualify after having exceeded the Australian, who finished third, 0.165.

A week after dominating the three training sessions in Zandvoort only to lose the pole position against Piastri, Norris will go around 3 p.m. on Saturday at the fastest time of the last two training sessions.

There was still little choice between leading cars, with just under four tenths of a second covering the top 10.

The promising start of Max Verstappen in Monza continued when he took fourth for Red Bull while George Russell showed the best form of Mercedes of the weekend so far to finish near the fifth.

Lewis Hamilton, who carries a five -seat grid penalty in qualifying, slipped to the seventh behind Gabriel Bortoleto while Sauber has at least temporarily supplanted the Williams Friday stars as a team to challenge the four outfits.
