Watford unveils a special kit dedicated to Sir Elton John
Watford has unveiled a special edition kit in honor of their most famous supporter and former president, Sir Elton John.
Inspired by the work of art for its 2017 “Diamonds” Album Greatest Hits, The Shirt presents a weak star motif through the front, Silver Watford Crest and Kelme Logos, and the retro of the club HAPPY HORNET Badge on the hem.
The collar and the cuffs carry details of additional stars, while the reverse is in relief with the words of one of its most emblematic songs, “Your song”.
The strip – designed in collaboration with Elton himself – will be worn when the Hornets welcome Blackburn Rovers in the championship.
He marked the start of the celebrations for the 50th anniversary of the music legend becoming president of Watford in 1976, a role in which he supervised the remarkable climb of the club of the fourth division at the first.
To launch the release, the current players have recreated some of Elton's most famous album covers in full kit. Defender Kevin Keben channeled “Jump!” With a Melon hat, while Mattie Pollock paid tribute to “Rock of the Westies”.
