Skip Bayless doesn't like the Shedeur Sanders situation at all as the Cleveland Browns' ongoing quarterback saga takes a turn for the worse. His main frustration was with head coach Kevin Stefanski, and Bayless even urged owner Jimmy Haslam to intervene before the 2025 NFL season was ruined.

Following the trade of Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals, many were waiting for the rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders to finally move up into the depth map. Instead, the Browns appear set to keep veteran Bailey Zappe as the backup behind rookie Dillon Gabriel heading into Week 6.

This didn't sit well with Bayless, who blasted Stefanski on “The Arena,” saying:

“He has no use for Shedeur Sanders. The owner will have to step in and say no to Stefanski.”

Bayless further stated that the Browns' situation is ideal for a young quarterback to shine.

“They have the fourth easiest schedule,” he said. “Pro Football Focus ranks them number one on defense. Mason Graham is a stud, Carson Schwesinger could be the defensive rookie of the year, and Quinshon Judkins…94, 82, 110 yards in three games, he can carry the rock.”

However, despite all this talent on the roster, Bayless believes Stefanski is fighting to save his job and will cling to his own draft pick, Gabriel, instead of giving Sanders a real chance.

“It rips my guts out,” Bayless added. “It’s on a silver platter for someone to take the reins.”

Flacco is old news now, but Sanders is still buried on the depth chart.

Shedeur Sanders is honest about Kevin Stefanski delaying Browns QB2 decision

Deion Sanders' son pushes for clarity after Flacco trade to Bengals, but Kevin Stefanski isn't budging. The Browns coach delayed naming a QB2, leaving Sanders stuck on the depth chart. Face the situation,

“We're going to do everything we can to get Dillon ready for the game,” Sanders said. “Whatever that means. Every day, even when Joe was starting, I prepare the right way and I'm ready to know I can go at any time. I have so much confidence in myself…that's fine with me.”

Stefanski, on the other hand, has a different perspective.

“I always have to be attentive to our players and their development,” Stefanski said. “I want to make sure I always do what’s best for our player, and of course our team…”

The drama will only end when Stefanski decides to trust Sanders.
