Next Nottingham Forest head coach: Marco Silva ready to replace Ange Postecoglou despite talks with Sean Dyche | Football news

Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is still considering several candidates to replace Ange Postecoglou as head coach, although he is close to agreeing terms with Sean Dyche.
Postecoglou was sacked on Saturday following a 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea, with the club confirming just 18 minutes after full time.
Dyche is said to be the favorite to replace him, but other names are still in the frame, including Roberto Mancini And Marc Silva.
Marinakis has a long-standing admiration for the Fulham boss since Silva managed his Olympiacos side, but getting the Portuguese is not simple despite his contract currently expiring next summer.
Forest will struggle to pay compensation to any new manager at the moment, Sky Sports News it was said, due to their PSR restrictions, which had not budgeted for three different managers in the same season, especially after only eight games.
Forest have already paid significant compensation to Nuno Espírito Santo and his team, who were sacked in September, and now face a similar hefty bill for the sacking of Postecoglou and his coaches.
Like Dyche, Mancini is unemployed and available without compensation. Forest bosses will not act until owner and chairman Marinakis makes his final decision. Fulham have not received any approaches for Silva as things stand.
Why the next meeting is crucial for Marinakis
Marinakis knows that this upcoming appointment as head of the team is essential in trying to restore some stability and confidence in the dressing room and among the supporters after a damaging period for the club.
In this regard, the Forest hierarchy currently believe that Dyche is the best man to steady the ship, organize and motivate the players and, above all, keep the club in the Premier League despite their ambition to finish higher in the table.
Another key requirement from the owner is that whoever takes over maximizes the significant investment that has been made in the playing squad this summer.
Forest spent over £180 million in the transfer window, and £130 million of that talent was not in the matchday squad against Chelsea. This was another subject of dispute between the owner and Postecoglou, Sky Sports News was said.
Despite the importance of this appointment, Forest leaders want to act quickly, with the Europa League match against Porto on Thursday.
