Floyd Mayweather comes out of retirement to return to professional boxing after an exhibition fight with Mike Tyson in April | Boxing News

Floyd Mayweather, who turns 49 later this month, announced he was coming out of retirement following his fight with Mike Tyson in April.
Following his exhibition fight with Tyson, Mayweather will return to his professional career with his first fight scheduled for summer 2026, with his opponent to be confirmed at a later date.
This will be Mayweather's fourth comeback after retirement, having retired in 2007, 2015 and most recently in 2017 after a fight with Conor McGregor. At the time, he was 50-0.
“I still have what it takes to set more records in the sport of boxing – from my next Mike Tyson event to my next professional fight after that – no one will generate a bigger gate, have a bigger global broadcast audience and generate more money with each event – than my events,” Mayweather said.
The 48-year-old American signed with CSI Sports/Fight Sports.
During a professional boxing career that spanned three decades, Mayweather amassed an unblemished and unmatched record of 50 wins, undefeated, while facing and decisively defeating the best of the era.
He is responsible for the three highest-grossing boxing events in history – against Manny Pacquiao, McGregor and Canelo Alvarez.
