Lafc and Cherundolo would be a disaster for Gio Reyna, says the former USMNT star Eric Wynalda

Former United States striker Eric Wynalda said Gio Reyna who returns to the major football league would be a disaster for the national team due to the lack of competition at the national nose at the national level.
Reyna's future in Borussia Dortmund is uncertain after another season in the grip of an injury that limited it to only 341 minutes in the Bundesliga.
A move on the Italian side Parma failed to materialize, which caused suggestions that he could return to the United States and play for Lafc.
According to Wynalda, it would give him less a threat to a USMNT who desperately needed 22 years to find his mojo before the final of the World Cup next summer.
History tells us to play in MLS DULLS Competitive Edge – Wynalda
Speaking on Unleashed with Eric Wynalda, he said: “I'm worried about Gio Reyna. I don't think returning to Lafc and playing for Steve Cherundolo will help.”
Wynalda underlines the fact that the MLS tried to bring back the American internationals before and this led to a drop in performance, adding: “Let us remember the idea of bringing Michael Bradley back to house with Jozy Altidore for Toronto.
“They also brought Clint Dempsey to play for Seattle. They paid him $ 6 million a year! It was in 2014.
“After three years in the League, what happened to our national team?” We did not qualify, and you cannot put it together?
“Michael Bradley, Dempsey and Jozy Altidore can't find a way to qualify against Trinidad?” With Christian Pulisic trying to pick up the remains and make something move at a young age?
“This is what happens when you come back and prepare for a World Cup and play in MLS. This is what you get. You are not going to be competitive in a World Cup environment. End of history. It is not an opinion. It is factual.”
Wynalda Slates “boring” Cherundolo
The LAFC was also linked to a move for Tottenham captain, Heung-Min, but Wynalda is not confident that Cherundolo can make the most of a player.
“Cherundolo is someone I have known for a long time. He is boring. He hates the media. He will not inspire anyone to do anything before a World Cup,” said Wynalda.
“Sorry if it hurts your feelings, but he is not the answer. He would not be the answer as the coach of the national team, and he is probably on the way back to Germany.”
