Newcastle complete 30 million pounds sterling

Newcastle signed the German international defender of Malick Thiaw of AC Milan for reported costs of around 30 million pounds Sterling.

The 24 -year -old joined after a three -year stay at San Siro and is the third signature by the Magpies of a turbulent summer.

Thiaw said, “I'm really delighted to join this massive club.

“I can't wait to start training and know my new teammates and all the staff.

“The gaffer (Eddie Howe showed me his vision and what he wanted to do with me as a player and the club itself, which is really exciting.

“I think Newcastle talks about itself. It's a big club, a big club with passionate fans that I can't wait to see in St James' Park.”

Thiaw joins the Nottingham Forest winger Anthony Elaga, and Southampton Ramsdale's Southampton goalkeeper in signature this summer.

Chief coach Howe said: “We are really delighted to have Malick on board.

“He is a player that I have been admiring for a long time and someone who will add real quality to our defensive options.

“Malick is still young, but brings a precious football experience in the Champions League, as well as playing in the Bundesliga and Serie A, which is a major positive for us while we are going back to Europe this season.”
