Parisians win the Super Cup on penalties after a late fight
Paris Saint-Germain has scored twice in the last 10 minutes before beating Tottenham Hotspur in penalties to raise the Super Cup of UEFA for the very first time in the history of the club.
Micky Van de Ven and the captain of the new club Cristian Romero had given Tottenham an impressive advance of two goals at the Bluenergy Stadium in Udine, Italy, but the Winners of the Champions League of Luis Enrique fell back into the game with the courtesy of late goals from Lee Kang-in and Goncalo Ramos.
Parisians then released victorious during the penalty shootout to further assert their growing domination in European football.
For the Northern Londoners, during this time, the defeat was torn from the victory jaws. But supporters of the Spurs can comfort themselves with a largely assured and risk display; Inaugurate the Thomas Frank era by going with the winners of the Champions League last season.
The Danish manager's plans were everywhere on the Tottenham game plan: the one who, for long periods, the Enrique conquest team had few answers.
Promising signs of spurs
After the very start of the match, PSG sought to pose the first punch, with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia turning well in Tottenham's penalty surface before removing his Target effort.
But the Spurs, seeming more direct in their game than under the former Manager Ange Postcoglou, seemed to be threatening on the counter.
The animated Kudus Mohammed nourished Richalison in the right inside. The Brazilian opted for a first distance strike, which was placed by Lucas Chevalier after obtaining a slight pacho cut on the way.
Rodrigo Bentancur went to the resulting corner, but the first signs of the spurs were promising.
And this early promise finally borne fruit when, six minutes before half-time, the club in northern London broke the dead end.
PSG failed to manage a free kick in the box, allowing Bentancur to head towards the goal of the lens of the left.
The balloon found its way to Palhinha, whose rise was saved expert on the bar by knight, but Van de Ven was there to bring the rebound.
Kudus then struck the goal while the Spurs approached to double their advantage at the end of the half.
But at the beginning of two minutes after restarting, Frank's men actually extended their advance when the captain of the new Romero club returned home from another free kick with which Knight should have done better.
The winners of the Champions League were amazed. The spurs were in the country of dreams; Less than 45 minutes from a second continental crown in a few months.
A resurgence of PSG
Not having a target shot for more than an hour, PSG then showed signs of life when they had a leased goal for the offside in the 64th minute.
The French part was now beginning to probe. In response, Tottenham has put on Archie Gray and Dominic Solanke in the hope of refreshing things to see the competition.
The Enrique team then firmly fought the momentum in the last trimester of one hour, the pressure giving a breakthrough when the low -path substitute for Lee reduced the deficit with only five minutes to play.
With the blood that smelled of PSG, the return was complete in the stop time, Goncalo Ramos – another substitute – heading for the Cross of Dembele to send the game to a pencillar shooting.
In the kick battle, PSG came out in the lead, recovering from Vittinha's opening to win 4-3 after Van de Ven and Mathys Tel was wasted for Tottenham.
For PSG, he scored a fifth trophy in 2025, while, for fans of the Spurs, it was so a welcome reminder of the old adage on the buses.
But, for 80 impressive minutes, it may be, just perhaps, a sign of things to come.
